Our Rates Are Too High

I am In

I am one of the five councillors elected for the Tauranga Ward. So thank you to everyone who voted for me.

The five councillors are Stuart Crosby, myself, Glenn Dougal, Kate Graeme and Kat MacMillan. Andrew von Dadelszen had been in fifth place from the progress results on Saturday. Kat and Andrew then swapped places when the preliminary results came out on Monday (Andrew out, Kat in). Final results are out and Kat is in. Well done Kat.

Our first day together on Monday the 20th of October was for orientation, photos, passes, laptops etc. Then it is into the fray. Lots of workshops to bring all the newbies up to speed. There are nine newbies out of the fourteen councillors.

The inaugural council meeting is on Thursday the 30th of October where the chair and deputy chair will be announced. Committees will be decided for the first working meeting later in November.
